8 NYC Influencers To Follow For Fashion Inspiration

by Hailey
October 25, 2020

All of these influencers mentioned below are boss women who I look up to for more than just their bomb fashion sense. They’ve all built platforms that I aspire to have one day and I thank them for being such great sources of inspiration. Let’s get into it!

A post shared by Eugenie Grey | 📍 NYC + LA (@feralcreature) on May 27, 2020 at 12:08pm PDT

Eugénie Grey is one of my favorite people I follow on Instagram. She is from Los Angeles and currently lives between there and NYC.

Eugénie is a jack of all trades, but her passion lies within personal styling and creative writing which we see throughout her noteworthy style and blog. Her style, in my opinion, could be described as slightly grungy, yet feminine. Let me tell you, she really knows how to serve some looks.

Eugénie favors black and neutral-toned items and will occasionally incorporate color and prints into her style as well. If I could raid her wardrobe, I would! Check out one of my favorite outfits of hers below and don’t forget to follow her on the gram here! Ps. peep her hair. So. Good.

I need to preface this by saying that Monroe Steele is one of the most badass names I’ve ever heard.

Monroe Steele is a fashion blogger and Youtuber who started Fashion Steel NYC 10 years ago (wow!) as a way to share her favorite thrifted items. She is now a full-time blogger and she also runs a yearly digital and print magazine named Steele Magazine. Talk about a boss, for real!

Monroe’s style is something I admire because she knows how to play with textures, colors and has really mastered the art of color blocking (this is something I could never get the hang of). Her Instagram has the best outfit inspiration no matter what vibe you’re looking for, whether it be some casual workwear or a night on the town. Peep one of my favorite outfits of hers below and don’t forget to give Monroe a follow here!

A post shared by Audree Kate (@simplyaudreekate) on Sep 24, 2020 at 9:05am PDT

I was actually first introduced to Audree Kate through my school, The Fashion Institute of Technology, when she hosted a seminar about what she does for a living, how she’s been able to become so successful in the industry and how we can be too!

She is calming energy in such a chaotic environment (the fashion industry is not always fun) and I really appreciated her ability to provide some awesome tips for us students.

Audree Kate is a fashion stylist and editor along with being the creator of the digital course, Fashion Fundamentals. Her hustler attitude is contagious and her fashion sense is style goals. I love the way she’s able to transition between fun, bright-colored outfits and darker, more badass styles.

No matter what aesthetic you’re trying to accomplish, Audree Kate is sure to have some inspiration on her page. Below is one of my favorite looks ever, don’t forget to follow her here!

A post shared by MIMOSAS & MANHATTAN | NYC + LA (@courtandkelly) on Sep 14, 2020 at 5:05pm PDT

Courtney and Kelly are not only lifestyle bloggers, but they’re cousins! These women are able to give a really unique perspective on living bicoastal (Courtney in NYC and Kelly in LA and DC) which I think is super cool.

Their blog, Mimosas and Manhattan, has been a favorite of mine for a while as they give awesome tips and tricks about style, beauty, blogging, and more.

Courtney and Kelly do an incredible job of providing a refreshing feminine feel throughout their style. They can do anything from making an affordable dress look expensive or a t-shirt and jeans look high fashion.

Plus, they consistently rock my favorite outfit pairing – jeans and heels (something I hope to be able to do one day but my pigeon feet say nope). Check out this stunning look from them below and give them a follow here while you’re at it!

A post shared by emily ann (@whatsemilydoing) on Sep 25, 2020 at 7:02am PDT

I started following Emily because not only is her style admirable, but she has one of the most aesthetically pleasing Instagrams I’ve ever seen. Her vibe could be described as a relaxed street style, which is right up my alley. And boy, does she know how to rock a bucket hat! *goals*

Emily also has a weekly series called “Saved Sunday” in which she shares her favorite saved posts from that week. I love this because it means her followers get to take a deeper dive into what interests her which I think is so important if you have a following.

Emily also shares lighthearted comedic relief to my Instagram feed through her humorous, relatable captions which I’m always a huge fan of! See below for one of my favorite outfits of Emily and give her a follow here!

A post shared by Stephanie Leigh (@stephanieleighnyc) on Oct 10, 2020 at 2:27pm PDT

Stephanie is a full-time content creator and Youtuber with an Instagram full of amazing style inspo! She is the queen of combining various earth tones throughout her outfits which I’m a huge fan of. I particularly love the way she styles jeans and I can tell she has a love for white sneaks, which I can totally relate to.

Although we’re heading into winter here in NYC, she has the best bikini recommendations as well! Stephanie also incorporates some fabulous sunglasses into her posts which I appreciate because I’m always on the hunt for some cute sunnies. See my favorite outfit of hers below and give her a follow here!

Originally from Britain, Karen Blanchard has made a name for herself in New York City through her fashion-forward YouTube channel and chic style. I love Karen’s ability to transfer refreshing energy and attitude simply through social media. When she pops up on my feed, I instantly know whatever she’s wearing is going to be cute and whatever she’s saying is going to be positive.

Karen really knows how to rock any style of dress and I absolutely adore her boot collection! She is also phenomenal at accessorizing, specifically with the bags she pairs with her outfits.

Karen is also a big advocate for thrifting, which I really appreciate (check out my best thrift tips here). Check out my favorite outfit of hers below and follow Karen here!

A post shared by NYC latina blogger | LEX (@lexiconofstyle) on Oct 4, 2020 at 3:42pm PDT

Lex is a body positive blogger based in New York City and Austin. She is the founder of LexiconOfStyle which sells headscarves, among other things! Lex is an expert at captivating her audience through fresh, cute styles. I love her ability to make a comfy outfit look high fashion on the streets of the city.  I love her because as a fellow New Yorker, comfort is key!

One of my favorite things about Lex is her sunglass collection. She knows how to pair each outfit with the perfect pair of sunnies. Every pair she wears is the cherry on top of her cute ass style. One of my fave pairs is below along with my FAVORITE outfit of hers! Check it out and give her a follow here!

Thank you for putting together this list of 8 NYC influencers to follow for fashion inspiration! I’m not super into fashion, but like what you said, I mostly dress for comfort. One of my favourite style bloggers is Megan Ellaby since her style is so colourful & eclectic. Even if I’m no fashionista, I enjoy following fashion influencers on Instagram for inspiration, so I’ll definitely be checking the accounts you listed here. So far I’ve followed Emily!
