Fun fact: my mom has been a hairstylist for over 30 years. So to say I know a little about hair would be an understatement.
I’m no expert, but my entire life I received the best hair care possible thanks to her. And one of my favorite things she’s ever bought me for my hair was my Wet Brush.
I’ve had my Wet Brush for years. I’m talking all the way back to high school. Since day one, I always thought it was such an amazing brush. But let me tell you, after years of use, it wasn’t looking so hot. I ordered a new one, which I love just as much as the last, and decided to write this Wet Brush review so you can see if it will work for you.

A Little About My Hair
Before you read this Wet Brush review, I want to tell you a little bit about my hair. But first, I want to mention that Wet Brush claims their brushes “works wonders on all hair types” so do what you want with that information.
As you can see in the picture above, I have naturally straight hair. It not quite thin and not quite thick, it’s pretty much right in the middle. It also gets SUPER knotty and tangled, which is why I’m the perfect person to write this article.
Long story short, I could breathe the wrong way and my hair will be a rat’s nest. I think that tells you all you need to know. You can see more of my hair here.
What Is So Special About Wet Brush?
I’ve used a lot of hairbrushes in my 25 years of being on this earth and nothing compares to the Wet Brush. But let’s get down to what actually makes the Wet Brush so special.
Did you know your hair is the weakest when it’s wet? This is why it’s so important to be gentle when brushing it wet.
What makes the Wet Brush so special is its bristles, which are made from exclusive, ultra-soft IntelliFlex™ technology. These bristles glide seamlessly through the hair without any pulling, tugging, or potential breakage. It’s all in the bristles!
Wet Brush gently loosens knots and tangles without pulling or breaking the hair. The bristles are gentle enough to run through wet hair seamlessly while minimizing damage and leaving you with soft, smooth hair.
This is what makes this brush so special compared to traditional hair brushes that pull and tug at your hair, leaving it damaged and broken.
Does The Wet Brush Damage Hair?
No! That’s the whole point of the Wet Brush is that it doesn’t damage hair. It helps prevent damage that typically occurs when people brush their hair wet.
So if you’re someone who cares about your hair or you’ve experienced damage from other brushes (or both), then you seriously need to check out the Wet Brush.
Can A Wet Brush Be Used On Dry Hair?
Yes! The Wet Brush is made for both wet and dry hair. It is gentle enough to use on dry hair without any yanking or pulling, causing potential damage.
I use my Wet Brush no matter the condition of my hair. Whether my hair is wet or dry or somewhere in between. Doesn’t matter what my hair is doing, I always use my Wet Brush.
What’s The Difference Between A Wet Brush and A Normal Brush?
It all comes down to the bristles. A normal brush that (you’re probably using) isn’t as gentle as it should be. The bristles can be stiff and damaging to hair.
Wet Brush’s bristles are flexible and bendy yet still firm. Therefore, they are able to brush through your hair with ease, unlike your traditional brush.
Is Wet Brush Better Than A Comb?
Um, YES. Wet Brush is 100x better than a comb. I’m telling you that once you switch your old brush or comb with the Wet Brush, you’re going to be way less frustrated brushing through your hair.
I know you’ve probably been using the same brush/comb for a while now but it’s time to upgrade. If you need a sign, this is it!
What Wet Brush Is Best?
There are a couple of different Wet Brushes that you can purchase. As for the price, the brushes range from $7-15ish depending on the brush and also the retailer where you purchase. But overall, you definitely won’t be breaking the bank buying these brushes.
Original Detangler Brush
They have a paddle brush for someone who prefers a paddle brush. Although if you’re looking for a fun color or print, there are better options for you in other styles besides the paddle brush.
They have mini brushes too! One came in the pack that I ordered with the original detangler hairbrush. I ordered this pack on purpose because I always wanted a mini brush to throw in my bag when I’m out. But seriously, how cute are these?
Go Green Collection
Wet Brush also has biodegradable “go green” hairbrushes, including regular hairbrushes and combs as well. These brushes are made from all-natural plant starch and have built-in natural oils that distribute nutrients to your hair as your brush hair.
I highly recommend checking out this collection. TBH, I probably would have bought this if I knew beforehand. But I had tunnel vision when I was browsing and just purchased what I was familiar with.
Prints and Collections
Another thing I love about Wet Brush is they have so many different colors and prints that you can purchase. They even have a Disney Princess collection, a Hello Kitty collection, and a Barbie collection.
Where Can You Buy This Amazing Brush?
You find Wet Brush at any major retailer. You can check them out below.
And there is my Wet Brush review, folks. As you can see, I’m an avid fan of the Wet Brush and truly believe it will change how you feel about brushing your hair. Also, for the price, it’s an amazing tool for your hair and I guarantee you won’t switch back.
