Two Shackets For What Is A Shacket Article

Say hello to the shacket! Right now, shackets are making their presence known through influencer and celeb wardrobes at full force. And now they’re ready for your wardrobe as well! After working in the fashion industry for many years, I can tell when a trend is going to stick around for a while and I have a hunch that shackets are one of those trends.

Now if you’re reading this, I bet you’re curious…precisely what is a shacket? And I also bet you’re looking for some shackets to potentially add to your wardrobe. Well, have no fear, I’m here to help you figure out all your unanswered questions. Let’s dive in!

What Is A Shacket?

It’s actually quite simple. A shacket is a shirt + a jacket, which equals a shacket. I don’t know who came up with this terminology because it’s not the most flattering name IMO. But I guess it’s better than a Jhirt! (cringe).

Basically just think of a long sleeve, slightly thicker version of flannel or button-down that you’re able to wear if it’s a little chilly outside. Honestly, there’s no one set definition of a shacket. There are so many different versions!

What Makes Shackets So Cool?

I love shackets for so many different reasons. First, they’re incredibly versatile. There are countless different styles of shackets, which is what makes them so cool because basically anyone can find a shacket that fits their individual style.

Shackets come in various lengths from cropped to long, various fits from fitted to oversized, and a ton of different materials/patterns from denim, to pleather, to plaid, and much, much more.

Essentially what I’m saying is that there is a shacket out there for anyone who wants to wear them no matter their taste.

Also, you can wear shackets throughout the seasons! Okay, maybe not summer but you can absolutely wear them the other 3 seasons of the year. They’re the perfect layering item and if you ever get too toasty, you can just tie it around your waist.

Some Shackets I Own and Love

Pull & Bear Shacket

When I saw the shacket trend making its way through my Instagram feed, I snagged this cute one from ASOS. ASOS is my go-to site for anything trendy and they definitely pulled through with this shacket from Pull & Bear.

This shacket is slightly oversized and is extremely comfortable. I was worried the fabric would be too stiff but it’s perfect.

I probably wouldn’t venture into the freezing cold with this item, but it’s perfect for fall or spring or a warmer winter day. 10/10 would recommend. For reference, I purchased a size small.

Mirror Selfie For What Is A Shacket Article

You all know I love a good mirror selfie. Anyways, I styled this product with a simple black, mock neck long sleeve top, a gold necklace, Levi’s Wedgie jeans, and my Doc Martens. This is a go-to look for me because it’s casual and comfortable. You can shop my look above!

New Look Shacket

Pleather Jacket For What Is A Shacket Article

I honestly wasn’t sure if I was going to like this shacket from New Look when I bought it off ASOS. The model made it look so good but I was hesitant because I’m not a big fan of pleather. But this product is actually pretty good in terms of quality and material. I’m obsessed with the color and the sleeves!

8/10 would recommend. I probably won’t wear this one as often as the other but I still really like it and I got it for a good price. I’m wearing a size 4 but probably could have sized down for a more snug fit.

Similar to how I styled the other one, I threw this shacket together with a white mock neck top, Levi’s Balloon jeans (which I’m in love with), a gold necklace, and my Doc Martens. I would have probably offered you more ways to style these shackets but I’m not at my apartment while writing this so I don’t have access to my whole closet. Shop the look above!
