I know why you’re here (maybe). It’s because you saw that skinny jeans are apparently out of style. So you started doing some research and you came across Levi’s wedgie jeans. Now you’re like, what’s the hype? Are they worth it? Will they make my booty look magical?
Well, fear not. I have put Levi’s wedgie jeans to the test to see if they’re worth the hype. Keep reading to answer all of your burning questions about the infamous wedgie jean, if they’ll work for you, along with my favorite pairs that I own (there’s quite a few).

What Are Levi’s Wedgie Jeans?
Spoiler alert: I absolutely love these jeans. More than anything. Minus my mom.
Levi’s wedgie jeans are hands down one of the best styles Levi’s has ever created. They’re such an iconic fit because they really know how to give a girl with no booty (hi, me) a booty lift.
They are a high rise jean that sculpts your legs and booty like no other. No, they’re not like mom jeans or boyfriend jeans. They’re truly a jean you’ve never tried before and that’s what makes them so special.
Wedgie jeans have a straight leg fit and come with inseams in 26in and 28in. They’re primarily an ankle fit, but depending on your height they will fall differently. Some of my jeans hit on my ankle and some hit a little longer than that.
A little about my experience with these jeans. Over the past few months, there’s been a lot of changes in my jean wardrobe. First, after losing some weight, I bought some new wedgie jeans in the fall. Then, I cleaned out my jeans and sold everything except for my wedgie jeans and one pair of my Levi’s balloon jeans (another fave of mine). After, I bought two more pairs. Then I got an old pair tailored to fit me (my favorite pair which is sadly still being tailored as I write this article). Phew! I know, I have too many pairs but honestly no regrets.
Now let’s jump into your questions to help decide whether Levi’s wedgie jeans are for you.
Do Levi’s Wedgie Jeans Run Small?
Yes and no. They don’t run small to the point that you need to worry about ordering the right size online. So definitely order whatever size you normally wear.
The reason I say no is because different washes initially fit differently. After working in retail for 5 years, I learned that darker wash denim tends to fit tighter than others. It’s just the way the dyeing process is. Who knows.
But fear not, if you’re interested in dark wash wedgie jeans, just purchase your regular size. They’ll fit just fine and this actually brings me to my next question which is…
Do Levi’s Wedgie Jeans Stretch Out?
Levi’s wedgie jeans “stretch out” but not to the point where they will change drastically. It’s more about them morphing into your body.
When you first buy basically any pair of Levi’s jeans, they’re always a little stiff. Wear them around your house, do a couple of squats, maybe take a jog around your kitchen to loosen them up. After a few wears they’ll fit you like a glove and you won’t ever go back.
Are Levi’s Wedgie Jeans Comfortable?
Levi’s wedgie jeans are incredibly comfortable for being jeans! Because let’s be honest, are jeans really comfortable? Eh, no. Unless you’re buying jeans from places like Old Navy or American Eagle, which tend to include more elastane in their jeans (giving them a more stretchy feel), then Levi’s wedgie jeans are going to be as comfortable as normal jeans.
As I mentioned above, they will morph to your body after a few wears which will also make them more comfortable to wear. So yes, in general, they are very comfortable jeans.
Should You Size Up Or Down In Levis?
We all know that women’s sizing in America is messed up. You can be a 2 in one brand and an 8 in another. It’s very confusing and can cause a lot of frustration, especially if you’re someone who is constantly in between sizes like me.
I go in between a 0-2 and wear a size 25 in my Levi’s. They fit me like a glove. If you don’t know your size in Levi’s jeans, I have two suggestions for you.
First, grab a measuring tape and refer to this size guide. Measure your waist, hips, and inseam. Then refer to the chart to see what size is best for you.
Second, if you don’t want to do that but you have a general idea of what size you are, simply order two sizes and return the one that doesn’t work. It’s that easy.
Do Wedgie Jeans Give You A Wedgie?
LOL. No. This was such a common question when I was doing my research for this article.
Wedgie jeans will not give you a wedgie. They will not feel uncomfortable on your booty. They’re simply called wedgie jeans because they’re designed to lift your booty and make it look flattering. There is no wedgie picking over here.
My Favorite Wedgie Jeans
Now we’re going to dive into my favorite wedgie jeans that I own. There’s one pair missing because I’m getting them tailored and they aren’t available to shop anyways so I don’t even know why I’m mentioning this. Whatever, let’s get into it.
I originally received these in my Nordstrom Trunk Club haul! Everyone needs a pair of dark denim. This is in the color “life’s work” and they are perfection. I’m going to say every pair is my favorite (because they are), but this is such a great pair of jeans for any wardrobe. I have to say, they were a little tight when I first got them but after a few wears they were totally fine.
These were one of the first pairs of wedgie jeans I purchased. I’m obsessed with the exposed button-fly and love the wash, which is named middle sister (so cute). These jeans have been on sale for quite a while, so check them out here to see if you can grab them for a discount.
In. Love. These are the perfect tone with the perfect rip in the knee without being too over the top. This is probably one of the pairs of jeans I wear the most because they’re so transitional and I love the ripped detail. Plus, they’re the perfect light shade. 10/10 would recommend, check them out here or click below!
I also got this pair of wedgie jeans in my Nordstrom Trunk Club haul. I had the lighter pair above but was interested in a pair that didn’t have rips and then these bad boys came along and I fell in love. They have a slightly acid wash look to them, without being too tacky. Definitely check them out!
See ya, skinny jeans. Hello, wedgie jeans. I promise that if you buy these jeans, you absolutely will not regret them. They’re my favorite style that Levi’ offers and if you know Levi’s, you know they’ll last forever.
Let me know in the comments what wedgie jeans you plan to buy!
With love or whatever,
