In my opinion, Urban Outfitters’ aesthetic is a mix of boho, modern, and trend-centric styles. It sways more relaxed than preppy. Styles at Urban Outfitters aren’t expected to be taken too seriously as there are plenty of bold, statement pieces mixed in with trendy yet practical styles. Urban Outfitters offers styles for everyday occasions whether you’re looking to dress up or down, within limits.

Mango
Mango was created with a passion for Mediterranean style and culture. You can feel this essence throughout the product assortment, specifically through the emphasis placed on details and modern elements. The brand combines contemporary styles and minimalistic fits with trendy aspects which is why Mango is one of the best stores like Urban Outfitters.
Mango is one of my favorite stores on this list because it’s affordable yet incredibly high quality. This brand is a great option for those who want to move away from shopping extremely cheap fast fashion brands and start spending a little bit more on products that are made from high-quality materials that will live in your wardrobe for more than a few months. But you’ll never be breaking the bank with Mango!
River Island
Another great UK brand, River Island is well known across the pond with over 350 stores throughout the UK, Ireland, and Asia. But for their fellow US customers like myself and maybe you, they have an amazing website for you to browse with a ton of trendy fashion selections.
River Island is perfect for both casual, everyday styles and night-on-the-town looks. River Island has a great product selection no matter what you’re looking for. Plus, their prices are incredibly affordable. If you’re looking to upgrade your wardrobe, River Island is a must-shop.

Uniqlo’s mission is to provide items that are able to be transitioned throughout various wardrobes and seasons, for everyone to wear. This brand has clothes and styles that you can wear for years to come because they are trendy yet timeless.
Urban Outfitters has some awesome basic items that I love, like my favorite top I mentioned in the intro! If you’re looking for items comparable to Urban’s basic selection, then Uniqlo is perfect for you.
H&M
We all know and love H&M. Whenever I’m shopping for an affordable yet stylish item, I always turn to H&M. This brand is constantly churning out new styles that fall within the realm of trendy all while being chic and transitional. If you’re on the hunt for stylish pieces that won’t break the bank, then H&M is a great option for you.
H&M has dominated affordable fashion brands over the years because they know how to stay relevant. So whatever you’re trying to find at Urban Outfitters, similar styles can be found at H&M whether that’s straight-leg jeans, feminine dresses, or comfortable basics. The affordable prices are simply the cherry on top.
Abercrombie & Fitch
Fun fact: Abercrombie is one of my clients at my job! They’re an amazing company and team and I truly admire how they’ve grown over the years. It’s been a pleasure working with them and as a fan of their rebranded styles, I had to include the on this list.
You probablt remember Abercrombie & Fitch as the preppy brand from the mid-2000s. They were roaming the halls of our high schools with their logo-centric styles (which were awful IMO). Now that Abercrombie has rebranded as a stylish, on-trend brand it’s clear to see why they are a wardrobe staple. The brand has really stepped up their game and I’m beyond impressed at the selection they offer.Don’t sleep on Abercrombie! If you haven’t taken a peak at their selection in the past few years, you’ll be surprised how much they’ve stepped up their game.
Nuuly
I should be Nuuly’s mascot for how much I talk about this company. Nuuly is a rental subscriptions service owned by URBN, which is why they are the perfect brand for this list of stores like Urban Outfitters.
For $88 a month, you can rent 6 pieces from Nuuly. Urban Outfitters, Free People, and Anthropologie are just a few of the brands within Nuuly that you can rent from. This is my favorite way to wear trendy pieces that I know I won’t wear more than once or twice. Plus, it’s a sustainable option to avoid overconsumption! If you’re a fan of Urban Outfitters and it’s sister stores, I highly recommend Nuuly as your next shopping destination.
If you decide to give Nuuly a shot, here’s $10 off your first order! (referral code).
ASOS
When I’m looking for a specificstyle or aesthetic I always turn to ASOS. The number of clothes that they sell is unbelievable so no matter what you’re on the hunt for, you’re sure to find it here. Plus, they always have amazing sales and deals and their return process is super duper easy.
Another thing I love about ASOS is that they have collection edits. This means you can shop styles featuring fashion’s latest trends. Plus, if you’re looking for a specific trend or style and you’re not finding a specific collection edit for it, you can simply type your inspiration in the search bar. Sure, you can do this on pretty much any brand’s website but because ASOS has so many products, you can type in something like “floral dress” and countless results will show up.
Topshop
Topshop was acquired by ASOS so now they’re a one-stop shop. The brand has always been an iconic British brand to shop when you’re looking for fun designs and easy-feel products. They definitely belong at ASOS because they both emulate the same tend-centric vibe. So while you’re looking at ASOS, definitely check out their Topshop selection.
Topshop has some awesome styles that are similar to what you would find at Urban Outfitters. Their prices are fairly comparable, so if you’re simply looking for some other similar styles to shop then this brand is great for you.
Lulus
I love Lulus. I’ve seen them all over my Instagram feed lately and it’s not hard to see why people love them so much. They have styles that are super cute with an air of sophistication that won’t break the bank. They are self-described as “affordable luxury” which may be a little bit of a stretch, but for the price you pay, the quality is fantastic. For stores like Urban Outfitters, Lulus is a great one to browse for similar items.
My favorite product that Lulus sells is hands down their dresses. They have the cutest flirty styles that are sure to bring out your girly side. But even if that’s not your jam, they have a bunch of other dress options for you. Another thing I love about Lulus is that you can shop by trend so if you’re looking for something that’s super popular right now, their website will lead you in the right direction.
& Other Stories
I remember when I was first introduced to & Other Stories and I fell in love. If you’re in a transitional period of your life and looking to step up your wardrobe with some high-quality, classic pieces then & Other Stories is perfect for you. I can’t believe this brand was founded only in 2010 because they’re so incredibly successful and have made such a memorable name for themselves. Also, they’re owned by H&M so I’m sure that helped!
& Other Stories designs their collections in Stockholm, Los Angeles, and Paris so you’re sure to get a taste of trends from around the world.
American Eagle
Ahh, American Eagle. Such an OG. They’ve really stepped up their game over the years and I couldn’t be more impressed with their product selection. I’m also a big fan of Aerie! One of my favorite things about American Eagle is all they’ve done over the years to build on the much-needed body positivity narrative. That, combined with their cute trendy styles, is the reason why American Eagle is such an awesome brand to shop.
American Eagle’s styles are fresh and relaxed. Their basics are definitely comparable to Urban Outfitters along with their cute boho-chic styles. I’m also a big fan of their loungewear selection, they’re so cozy! Believe me, you don’t want to sleep on American Eagle.
Madewell
I would put Madewell, Urban Outfitters, & Other Stories, and Mango all under the same categories of high quality, trendy minimalistic items that are perfect for anyone looking to build a capsule collection. If you can’t find something at one brand, you will be able to at the other. Madewell is one of my faves because they do implement sustainability throughout their business model. Plus, they also always have promotions going on along with a great sale section.
Madewell is known for their denim but they have so many more product categories they absolutely kill it in. Their contemporary styles are unmatched and they have the best selection of wardrobe essentials. They are hands down one of the best stores like Urban Outfitters.
