Glossier Stretch Concealer Review: Read Before You Buy

Hand holding concealer for Glossier Stretch Concealer Review

I’ve had quite the obsession with Glossier for a few years now. Their famous Boy Brow has been a staple in my makeup bag for many moons. Every few months I place a new order for that product, and will usually try some other new items while I’m at it. This past order, I decided to give their Stretch Concealer a test. I’ve been using the same concealer for a hot minute and while I was content with it, I felt ready to try something new.

Stretch Concealer became one of the many Glossier products I’ve tried within my time as a loyal customer of the brand. For the most part, I am seriously impressed with the concealer! That’s why I’m excited to bring you my Glossier Stretch Concealer review. Now let’s jump into this details in order to see if this concealer will work for you.

A Little About My Skin & Undereyes

Before we dive into it, I want to tell you a little bit about my skin and under eyes so you are able to understand my “problem areas” and possibly compare/relate.

First, I have pretty hallow under eyes, meaning I lack fat in that area. This makes my under eyes appear slightly sunken, allowing greater room for shadows and general darkness. This is why I primarily use under eye concealer, to combat the darkness and shadows caused by my sunken eyes.

This is not something I’m insecure about by any means. I simply enjoy wearing makeup and concealer is apart of that. Regardless of why you’re looking to cover your under eyes, you do you!

Also, my under eyes tend to lean on the dryer side, which can be tough when it comes to wearing concealer as some formulas enhance the dryness. I didn’t find this to be a problem with the Stretch Concealer.

Now that you know a little about me, let’s dive into the details of this concealer.

What Is Glossier Stretch Concealer?

Glossier Stretch Concealer, according to Glossier, is an undetectable and flexible coverage concealer. This product comes in 12 shades (not enough in my opinion) and costs $18 for .17oz.

This concealer has a dewy, glowy finish and contains elastic micro waxes (lol huh?) that helps move with your skin instead of caking on top of it. It also contains adaptable mineral pigments that help give a brightening effect and blend into the skin for natural-looking coverage.

Now that you know a little bit more about the Stretch Concealer claims, let’s dive into my opinion on this product and whether this concealer is worth the money.

My First Impressions

For reference, I ordered my concealer in the shade G11, which is their light neutral shade. Check out their other 11 shades here.

My first impressions were that the jar was quite small and it didn’t seem like there was a ton of product in it. But after I swiped my finger in the product and saw how much color payoff there was, I knew this was one of those “a little goes a long way” concealers.

The way Glossier instructs you to apply this concealer is to lightly swirl your fingertips over the surface and gently pat it onto moisturized skin, dabbing outward. I did exactly this and was pleasantly surprised! I’m not sure what I was expecting but I actually really liked how it looked.

The Stretch Concealer gave a gorgeous dewy finish to my under eyes and the color matched my skin perfectly, which I was surprised by because it’s always a gamble with color matching.

I’d say the coverage of this concealer is light-medium but is buildable if you’re looking for a fuller coverage concealer. It also doesn’t dry out my under eyes which is crucial because as I mentioned, I tend to have drier skin around that area.

I’ve been using this concealer every day for a few weeks now and am still loving it. I even use it to cover up any blemishes or acne scars, which it does seamlessly. Overall, I can definitely see myself using this concealer indefinitely!

The One Downside

As of right now, I have had one issue with the Glossier Stretch Concealer.

This concealer comes in a jar, which I was aware of when purchasing, but when I received it I was reminded as to why I try not to purchase potted items. They’re generally unsanitary and have a higher liklihood of harboring germs and other microorganisms.

I always make sure my hands are washed before applying this product, or any potted products for that matter. I would love it if they made this product in a pump, but I totally understand that would require completely changing the formula so I’ll just deal with it for now!

Is Glossier Stretch Concealer Full Coverage?

Glossier Stretch Concealer can be full coverage when you build it. It’s advertised as having “flexible” coverage meaning it can be anywhere from light to full coverage, depending on how you use it.

Overall, I prefer light-medium coverage and I’m able to achieve that with one application. The concealer is very natural looking, which I appreciate so my under eyes don’t stand out as too unnatural against the rest of my skin, especially because I don’t wear foundation (check out my secret weapon for foundation-free, clear skin here).

Does Glossier Stretch Concealer Crease?

I definitely have some fine lines under my eyes just from, ya know, living. They don’t bother me at all but sometimes certain concealers enhance them. I don’t think that the Glossier Stretch Concealer settles into my fine lines more than any other concealer would.

I make sure to set my under eyes which helps with creasing. I’m currently using the Glossier Wowder, which has always been a favorite powder of mine. I do find that setting my Stretch Concealer minimizes the risk of creasing, but sometimes it’s inevitable no matter what concealer I’m using.

Before and After

The first picture you see above is me with no makeup, except for my eyebrows (Glossier Boy Brow, baby!) The next picture (bottom left) is of me with Stretch Concealer on the right and no makeup on the left. As you can see, it does a great job concealing the darkness under my eyes. Then, on the next picture (bottom right) is Stretch Concealer under both eyes as well as on any acne or scars I had (mostly on my cheeks).

This is with one layer of Stretch Concealer. If you’re looking for more full coverage, then you can always build it!

Final Thoughts

In general, the Glossier Stretch Concealer is a great makeup product. If you’re looking for a natural-looking, buildable finish, then this is a perfect concealer for you. I highly recommend it and will likely be using this product for a while until I feel the need to try something else!
